It is stated that this family derived its surname form an estate in the
neighborhood of the city ofAmersfoort, from which the progenitor of the
American Family, Wolfert Gerrits emigrated to this country. Beernink in the
Publications of the Society Gelre Vol XII,Werken state that the orginal name of
this family was SUYPe, Sube, Zuben Suijpe or Supe.
He is buried in the choir of the church at Nykerk.
