Moved from Ireland to the US. Lived in Chicago, where Peter Sr. was a cooper. The family planned to return to Ireland and sold their home and furnature, had the trip tickets when Peter Sr. was robbed and murdered on his way home from the bank with all of their cash. His wife and all childern except Peter Jr. returned to Ireland. Peter Jr was 12 at the time and remained in the US by himself. 120
