Oldest daughter. Married John Ritter, a Civil War veteran and settled in Washington County, Indiana. Later moved to McLean County, Ill. Smoked a corncob pipe. She took to smoking because her husband took to drinking whiskey. Harry A. Scogin said he never saw her without the pipe, and that she drooled as she smoked. 102
