He left school after the 8th grade and went to work. He married Georgia Moses in 1931 and had two children, Harry III and Sherrie. Harry, Jr. was an automobile mechanic before World War II, and joined General Motors in 1946 after the war. He became an area service manager with GM, and was transferred over the years from Omaha to St. Louis, Kansas City and Detroit. He retired from GM in 1972 and purchased an automobile dealership in Jackson, Alabama. 42

Marian and Bud kinda were loners and did some things together cuz the rest of us paired off, closely birthed. Marian has always been very independent, building her independent defiance against our step mother. I was the "baby" and a pushover.
